I’m incredibly and overwhelmingly pleased to have a story & postcard in wigleaf.

I took a flash fiction workshop at my local literary guild in 2013. It was the first time I learned about the submitting process (among other things). For the last class, everyone was assigned an online literary journal to give a report about. I chose wigleaf & it’s been my brass ring publication ever since.

I got the idea for this story when news broke the Ringling Brothers Circus was closing. The first article I read opened by profiling their human cannonball, “Nitro” Nicole Sanders. I couldn’t stop thinking about what performers like Nicole would do once the circus shut down.
